Christopher Guy is paying homage, as he often does, to the female form. Guy’s work combines a cinematic sense of Hollywood glamour—through metal leafing, exquisite lacquers, and plush fabrics—with womanly couture shapes.
The Mademoiselle Collection includes the Art Nouveau–inspired Camelia chair ($3,000 for the small version), a sectional sofa whose shapely curves are reminiscent of French Deco salons ($14,298), and framed mosaic treatments of famous French Art Deco posters. New additions for spring are a spectacular black lacquer sideboard with vivid red lacquer interiors and gold-leafed legs shaped like ice cubes ($10,873), and a bar on slender tapered legs, with ruched cabinet doors, ivory lacquer interiors, and decorative pulls that resemble cascading ribbons ($23,182).
Christopher Guy’s designs are featured in the world’s top hotels (the Savoy and Grosvenor House in London, Jeddah Hilton, Four Seasons, and more), as well as in many films. (800.476.9505, www.christopherguy.com)
