Lulu Dali Inspired Lulu Liu Brings Color into Autumn/Winter 2012

Exceptional women’s wear line, Lulu Liu has entered the showroom with their AW12 collection. The line refers to themselves as “a need breed of fashion company.” They take pride in making sure that their products are top notch- valuing their promise of luxurious, carefully made and high quality pieces. Lulu Liu creates eye-catching garments that still retain the feminine look women crave.

The AW12 collection is chock full of over sized pleats mixed with long layers and bright vibrant colors, which was chosen to emulate Dalian landscapes and believe it or not, clowns. Lulu Liu takes the feeling of the fantasy you see in Dali’s paintings and brings it life- making it both tangible and wearable. Dali used bright colors to create a sense of being disconnected from reality. Lu Liu takes inspiration from this through the image of the clown. The line takes the classic clown shirt and transforms it into a feminine and form fitting masterpiece. Pleats give dimension to the tops and are combined with fur and organza to balance out the piece. Looks like there’s nothing funny about THESE garments.

Lu Liu is a Chinese-British designer who founded the line, which is based in London. Liu is well acquainted with the fashion seen there, as she graduated from the London College of Fashion. Prior to starting up a company of her own, she worked for Giles, which allowed her to gain the experience needed to run Lulu Liu.

Lulu Liu is made in the UK using high-end materials such as cashmere, fur and the finest wool, which all help contribute to the bold and confident styles that Lulu Liu produces for the lines wearers.
