First, DD proposes to his secretary-turned nanny in the season finale of Mad Men and then we had to wait a ridiculous 17 months to find out why he completely lost his mind?? Don Draper literally makes me so insane that I yell at my TV when I’m watching Mad Men. Why is he so impossibly difficult and simultaneously sexy? I think he may actually be the character I most love to hate to love… But I digress, because with the return of Mad Men also comes the return of ultra-fabulous glamor, in every sense of the word.
Bee-hives, falls and cat-eyes galore… Watching Mad Men makes all of us want to channel our inner 1960s. If there is one thing that can be said for the women of Mad Men, it is that they always look immaculate. Perfect hair, perfect clothes and perfect makeup. Part of that flawless looks is thanks to Mad Men’s head makeup artist, Lana Horochowski.
For an amazing flawless yet natural-looking complexion, Horochowski swears by Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation, which she uses on Elisabeth Moss, January Jones and Christina Hendricks. Horochowski raves, “It creates a flawless canvas on all ages and skin types. I love its durability on set and that after an 18 hour shoot day my actors never complain about their makeup feeling too heavy or cakey.”
At $62 a bottle, this is definitely not your grocery store foundation… but we’ve already talked about the difference between what you do and what the pros do. The reality is that a great foundation really makes the difference between looking like you have flawless skin or looking like you’re wearing foundation. If you wear makeup every day, investing in a quality foundation is basically a law. Seriously. I just made it so.
And what more could you ask for than a foundation which is Mad Men approved?
You can get Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation on their website or at any Barney’s New York location.
