O. Fournier in the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina, is offering a unique package for wine lovers: it is selling a portion of its estate to 84 people who, as partners of the winery, can grow, label, and distribute their own wines, and earn revenue while receiving complete access to O. Fournier’s resources.
The winery is selling one- to three-hectare plots from $150,000 each, which can harvest the Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torrontés varietals. A few of the plots—at $170,000 per hectare—can house a villa for the winemaker; for those that do not, winemakers have reign of the guesthouses on the O. Fournier property so they can oversee their production as well.
Each partner will get everything they need to run a vineyard (drip irrigation, plants, antifrost systems, a webcam to oversee the vineyard, etc.), but O. Fournier will handle the grunt work—like managing a staff to work the land—and will provide resources, including a private section of its temperature-controlled cellar, provide preexisting wines for partners to produce their own blends, and offer free use of on-site activities like horseback riding, vineyard tours, and fishing.
Partners also get preferential purchase of O. Fournier’s limited-production and important vintage wines, access to the VIP room at the winery restaurant, and use of a personal concierge service to make all arrangements while in Argentina. Other benefits include entrance to all wine events where O. Fournier is present (Vinexpo, Decanter Fine Wine Encounter, Wine Spectator Grand Tour, etc.); choice seating at events where top celebrity Michelin-star chefs from around the world come and cook at the O.
