Curious about whats coming up in the fashion world? Ive got the inside scoop on the latest

fashion trends

after joining thousands of other stylish insiders this past week in Las Vegas to attend PROJECT. As the worlds preeminent contemporary fashion trade event, it boasts the best brands in the business.

Fashion aficionados from all over the globe gathered to take in the latest developments from the most influential retailers and labels as well as plan ahead for continued excitement, energy and commerce in the marketplace. Needless to say, the entire three-day event was bursting with activity and I made the rounds to get the 4-1-1 on whats to come for the contemporary fashion scene. Here are some of my highlights from a few cool up-and-coming brands you should be on the lookout for:

CLOTHING
Elliatt: I was wowed by this incredibly chic and feminine Australian line that is just under two years old. From ladylike, structured frocks to trendier risqu looks, (watch for exquisite draping and sultry sparkle for holiday) this label showed strong potential for global success.

AGAIN:Helmed by L.A.-based designer Amber Kekich-Purling, AGAIN stood out in the crowd with its eye-catching fabrics (all imported from Italy) and silhouettes that were anything but ordinary but surprisingly wearable. Expect simple, yet modern looks with futuristic details transformed into wearable works of art. Photo Courtesy of AGAIN

Lavender Brown:Just a year old, Lavender Brown drew quite a crowd at PROJECT this year, thanks to uber girly dresses, exclusive floaty floral prints, sophisticated bodies (alluring cut-outs, hi-low hemlines, pretty pleats) and gorgeous vivid colors. Given that the co-founders are industry veterans hailing from XOXO, its a promising start to a long-lasting line in the contemporary market. Photo Courtesy of Lavender Brown

ACCESSORIES
Della: This colorful, spunky accessories line beckoned to buyers on the the PROJECT floor. The goods (Macbook cases, hobo bags, headbands, iPad cases and more) are made by workers in Ghana (who reap fair wages, educational classes and health care in return) are a sign that fashion can be philanthropic, too. Love this mission? Apple has partnered with the brand and offers exclusive Ghanaian patterned Macbook cases at stores in L.A. and New York. Photo Courtesy of Della

Theia Jewelry: Sparkling amongst the competition, Theia jewelry attracted considerable interest at PROJECTand for good reason. Its first time showing to wholesalers ever, the line dazzled with ultra-glitzy Swarovski-encrusted baubles (the statement necklaces and earrings were a must-see) and cultured diamonds, too.

FOOTWEAR
Maguba: Debuting for the first time in the U.S., this Swedish clog company is reinventing an iconic shoe with customized designs, fabrics and edgy heel heights (including a funky wedge). With so many personalized options available, theres something for everyone.

SWIM
Beach Riot: Founded by Nicole Hanriot (of Tavik Swimwear fame), Beach Riot emerged as the buzzed-about swimwear line to pay attention to. Offering sporty-yet-seductive silhouettes, quirky playful prints (dinosaurs, anyone?) and chic modern details, this line goes well beyond a boring bikini. We expect the beach scene to look a lot more stylish next season thanks to this exciting new line.
