One thing everyone in Britain can agree on: Pippa Middleton knows how to party.
So Middleton – the sister of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge – was marking the release of her new book, Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities for Families and Friends., with a private launch party Thursday night, posing outside Daunt Books in west London.
Celebrate is Middleton’s guide to home entertaining. It draws on her experiences working with her parents’ business, Party Pieces, and a London-based events company. It has tips on entertaining for different celebrations throughout the year as well as recipes, crafts and games.
Middleton said she hopes to give readers ideas without breaking the bank.
The 29-year-old wore no fewer than four outfits during the event, spending nearly £3000 ($NZ5900). Eight camera crews from around the world were on hand as she began her day with a secret visit to Foyle’s bookshop for her first ever signing, wearing a Vespa patchwork dress by Paper London.
She then headed to Daunt Books, in Chelsea, finding time for a dress and hair change on the way. She arrived in a purple Roksanda Ilincic Ayden dress in wool-crepe, with her hair styled in a half-up, half-down do very reminiscent of the Duchess of Cambridge.
Minutes later Miss Middleton changed into a black and green dress by hip fashion designer Markus Lupfer to throw a children’s Halloween party.
Finally, she dashed off for her final change of outfit, reappearing at the evening event in a Stella McCartney sheath dress – costing a mere £1,500.
