Royal family adopting NZ colours

The royal family is getting behind New Zealand’s colours – with the Duchess of Cambridge donning Kiwi fashion and Prince Harry being snapped with an All Black fan.

The Duchess gave a royal salute to Kiwi fashion designers when she donned her second outfit in as many months by a New Zealand designer.

She chose a blue tweed suit from designer Rebecca Taylor’s 2011/2012 collection for a reception to honour the Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole in London last Thursday.

New York-based Taylor told Vogue UK that having the Duchess – who has just celebrated her first wedding anniversary – dressed in her design was a dream come true.

“Ever since she came on the scene I said: ‘I want to dress that girl’.”

Earlier this year, the Duchess wore an outfit by another New Zealand designer for St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

At the St Patrick’s Day parade in March she was dressed in a green belted coat dress by Auckland-born designer Emilia Wickstead bought especially for the occasion.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry was spotted in the same restaurant as a tiny All Black supporter – baby Ace.

Ace was with his parents, New Zealanders Kim and Mike Chilman-Blair at a London restaurant when they bumped into the prince.

Prince Harry seemed happy to pose for photos with the tot who was togged out in a mini All Black jersey.
