Max Mara Makes Actress Amy Adams the Star of Their New Campaign

While most of us are soaking up the sun and planning backyard get-togethers, the fashion industry is gearing up for fall with the release of their F/W 14-15 campaigns. Most have featured popular models or bright new up-and-comers—like Gisele Bündchen for Isabel Marant or Lottie Moss for Calvin Klein—but Max Mara decided to shake up the game. Turning to A-lister Amy Adams to front their fall and upcoming spring campaigns, the Italian luxury brand is hoping a dose of Hollywood will stand out amongst the others.

Replacing Jennifer Garner who was the face of the brand last year, Adams was shot by Mario Sorrenti wearing the brand’s signature sunglasses, handbags and accessories. Featuring Max Mara’s Signature Bag, the Margaux and a new line of eyewear, the actress’ campaign images will be featured in approximately 50 store windows around the globe. There will be a total of five photographs for Adams, with handbag shots set to release in August and sunglasses coming in October. The campaign will be released worldwide including Moscow and Dubai.

The Best Backstage Beauty Shots of London Fashion Week

As much as we love all those glittery frocks, sky-high heels and layers of cold-weather accessories that come down the Fall 2014 runway in droves during London Fashion Week, we probably freak out even more for all those gorgeous beauty looks. From messy buns (how time saving is that trend?), to nude lips, to multicolored, graphic nails, nothing gets our hearts beating as fast or as hard or as a new shade of polish or lipstick. And the fact that most of these new products are available right after each show makes us practically throw our wallets at Sephora; we can make it rain with credit cards right? We poked around to find some of our favorite backstage looks—shots that made us realize gold leaf is surprising versatile and everything looks better with bedhead.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the most expensive and extravagant fashion events on the calendar.

Check out all the pictures from this year’s runway in the gallery below

This year’s show is adorned with 40 buxom models in an array of embellished underwear and angel wings.

This week, a video featuring footage of the many hands at work making the annual show come in to fruition was released on the Victoria’s Secret YouTube channel.

Check it out here:

The show, airing on December 10 at 10pm (local time), features Victoria’s Secret veterans Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel, Lindsay Ellingson, Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes.

Debutants, Malaika Firth and Josephine Skriver, also step out, while Aussie favourite, Miranda Kerr is a no-show.

Musical sets come care of Fall Out Boy and pop princess Taylor Swift. The blonde beauty, who lands in NZ this week for a series of sell-out sets at Vector Arena, was dissed by Aussie Angel, Jessica Hart, for being the wrong fit for the sexy show.

“I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she’s great,” Hart told WWD at the show after-party.

“But, I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that. I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.”

Going into the fall and winter months means our outfits will be darker, colors will be bolder and there will be a lot more metal.

Henri Bendel

is covering all these bases with their No. 7 Quilt Zip Tote. Part of first collection from Henri Bendels new Creative Director Pina Ferlisi, the bag is perfect blend of trends for the coming seasons. The emerald green tote features quilted leather in a unique swirl pattern with golden hardware throughout. A custom tortoise and gold Henri Bendel monogram sits front and center, while the metallic chain handles are wrapped in leather with a nine inch drop. This jewel toned tote is perfect for work or play, plus in the event you have to bring along your iPad, kids toys, etc. (life can get hectic), opening the expandable zippers that go around all four sides, will give you a little more room. And even with all the extra stuff youre toting around, everything stays organized with two large interior pockets and one zippered pocket. So while your friends are all carrying the same Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. or Marc Jacobs Natasha crossbody, youll have something totally uniqueand roomier.

Henri Bendel No.7 Quilt Zip Tote is available online and is

priced at $450.

Jean Paul Gaultier Goes Gaudy This Fall With Swarovski Crystals and Animal Prints

Never a stranger to avant-garde runway creations, designer

Jean Paul Gaultier

debuted his Fall/ Winter 2013-14 Couture Collection last month to reveal tulle, leather, silk and over 1.8 million Swarovski crystals. The runway was filled with opposing juxtapositions, feminine models in lady-like pencil skirts and girls strutting down the catwalk in spiked gowns roaring like jaguars. Shaded in dark winter hues with pops of color, the seasons main feature of animal print and crystals were

prominently

displayed.

Inspired by a trip to Swarovski headquarters earlier in the year, Gultier procured 1,843,272 crystals and embroidered them to the majority of the collection. Your inner light can shine bright thanks to Swarovski crystals, the designer said. Swarovski crystals forever. Aside from prints and sparkle the collection was very structured, harsh jutting angles made softer by copious amounts of tulle. Most pieces were laden with ridiculously sized pockets; some were so large that one model continuously tossed flower petals on the runway from a seemingly infinite opening in her dress.

Set to a twisted version of Henry Mancinis “Pink Panther Theme” the haute couture collection had mixed reviews, but left most people wondering if Gaultiers reign as a French fashion leader was over.

In 1985 they finally began selling their own creations, and today the brand is comprised of six linesâ?? including menswear, formal knit, tailoring, eyewear, accessories and even childrenâ??s wear.
