WHIT’s Spring 2013 line is inspired by a tropical escape. As soon as you lay eyes on the collection, there is an immediate felling of a refreshing breeze and an uplifted mood, which brings back nostalgic memories of a relaxing tropical vacation. Whitney Pozgay, the founder and designer of WHIT, began designing the Spring collection on her recent honeymoon in St. Lucia, without phone or email, Whitney reconnected with nature and was reminded of the importance of unplugging and enjoying the art that is nature. Leaving the beach in a pink fishing boat, she and her husband explored the island and returned from the trip, wanting to capture the feeling of her vacation thus creating the present collection. The breez mood, the vibrant prints, encapsulated into the downtown friendly modern silhouettes. The resulting collection is heavily influenced by tropical factors: island flora, cabana stripes and clean shapes. The S/S line features tropical exuberant brights, sporty details and campy prints including a Banana Leaf print created by artist Jemme Aldridge. Let’s just say, the collection was well worth the trip!
